Picture
Hide it, for I have not sought
Don't show it to me
Your picture traps my thought
My mind is no longer free
I do want to know you
But with your picture I extract
An objectified you and rue
This is an unfortunate fact
Once you and I have known
A lovely memory has been sown
Your picture is then a mark
Of your true spark
Then I shall rejoice and treasure
All pictures and depictions of you
For I would know in good measure
You who are true, you who are true
Don't show it to me
Your picture traps my thought
My mind is no longer free
I do want to know you
But with your picture I extract
An objectified you and rue
This is an unfortunate fact
Once you and I have known
A lovely memory has been sown
Your picture is then a mark
Of your true spark
Then I shall rejoice and treasure
All pictures and depictions of you
For I would know in good measure
You who are true, you who are true
