Parineeta and Beyond
I saw Parineeta last night - what a wonderful movie! Can't believe how powerful Sarat Chandra's story was - he wrote it almost a century back! The songs were wonderful - and I liked Tagore's Phuley phuley very much. The new actress was amazing. I would definitely recommend this movie.
In the theater, I met a gentleman who looked familiar. He too thought I looked familiar. After searching for connections in California (unsuccessfully), I realized he was my present roommate's past roommate - we had met for a photograph. Sriram was there with his wife to watch the movie and we decided to get together for lunch the next day.
That was today. We had a great afternoon. Four of us cooked dal and rice while Radhika and Sriram cooked some amazing Aloo Methi, Tofu Simla Mirch and Dal Salad! We then got into a discussion, first on software engineering and then on voluntary social systems.. Kapil Sharma kept falling asleep - those were good moments. He'd wake up intermittently and opine that the theory had a fallacy and then he'd go back to sleep :).
Here are some photographs.
