A Squirrel's Tale

Springtime and Squirrels go well together. This is the tale of a tiny squirrel playing in front of the Memorial Church.

As I moved up for a closer shot, Squirrel-san stood up, poised.

Suddenly, Squirrel-san darted up a tree - as is evident from the motion blur below.

Our protagonist finally reached safety on top of a branch. At this point, Squirrel-san's behavior altered significantly. No longer was its interest in its pursuer or the world below. I am convinced that this is a philosopher-squirrel. It looked up and inspite of my continued attempts to get it to smile or look at me, it continued to ignore me and stare at the sky above.

This squirrel's tale may end here, but there is another which is the target of an urban legend - the black squirrel.

According to "informed sources," these squirrels have been genetically engineered by an agency that Hollywood relies on for survival.
